A free contribution, never added by default
Many free money pots are funded by an optional commission, often presented as a “free contribution” or a “tip”. It is frequently already in the basket when the contributor reaches the payment step, and it is up to them to remove it.
On our platform, nothing is added by default: contributors choose knowing what they pay, and contributing for free takes no action. Of the ten money pot companies with an optional commission in our comparison, we are the only one that works this way.
Both payment buttons have the same colour and the same size: the interface pushes towards neither choice.

Those who saw the pre-filled commission are told after paying and can get it back in one click.

To cover the cost of a pot, we need about 3% of the amounts collected. That is why we recommend a 3% contribution when you withdraw: it is what keeps the service free for everyone.
You remain free to choose the amount of your contribution, or to give nothing at all. There is no obligation, and withdrawing is free.

Withdrawing the money from your pot
The money is sent by SEPA transfer to your bank account, free of charge. You withdraw it whenever you like, without waiting for the pot to end.

Timings
The money from a contribution becomes available 3 business days after the payment. The transfer then arrives 1 to 2 business days after you request it: requested on Friday after 2 pm (Paris time), it is sent on Monday.

Contributors pay by card, from any country in the world, without creating an account. The pot is in euros, and when someone is abroad, we offer to let them pay in their own currency.

We have optimised the payment flow so that no contribution gets lost.
Every step is clear. If a payment fails, the contributor receives an email with a link to pick up where the payment failed. As soon as a payment goes through, we send a confirmation email to the contributor and to the organiser. Everything is designed to make contributing simple, quick and convenient. The site is also available in French.
Paying from abroad, in another currency
Someone abroad sees the amount in their own currency, so they know exactly what they will pay before confirming. It lets people anywhere contribute to a pot in euros, which is not always simple with a foreign bank card.

Frequently asked questions
When do I need to verify my identity?
Not to create the pot: you can share it and receive contributions without verifying your identity. Verification is only required when you withdraw the money. It is a regulatory requirement that helps fight fraud and money laundering.
It takes a few minutes on your phone: you photograph your identity document, then take a selfie. You only do it once, even if you create several pots. We recommend doing it as soon as you create your pot, so everything is ready the day you want to withdraw the money.
Which countries can I withdraw the money to?
The bank account must be a euro account (IBAN) in the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom or Gibraltar. The pot and withdrawals are always in euros.
Can I cancel a withdrawal?
Yes, as long as the transfer has not left. If a withdrawal is cancelled or refused and you had given a contribution, it will be refunded to you.
What is the minimum contribution?
€0.50. We set no maximum: only the payment limit of the contributor's card applies.
Can people contribute by PayPal, bank transfer or cheque?
No. Contributors pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, from any country.
Do I have to spend the pot with partner shops?
No. There are no vouchers and no required partners: the money is paid into your bank account and you spend it however you like.
What happens when I close the pot?
Nobody can contribute any more, and you can reopen it if needed. The money stays available for your withdrawals, free of charge.
Is Memorable.me a regulated company?
Yes. Memorable Day SAS is a crowdfunding intermediary (IFP), registered with ORIAS under no. 26010195 and supervised by the ACPR, the French banking authority. Our business is covered by professional liability insurance.
