A safe money pot, from contribution to withdrawal
Memorable is a regulated money pot platform: funds are held in escrow accounts, payments are secured with 3D Secure and your data is hosted in Europe. Here is how we protect organisers and participants.
A French company, registered and insured
Memorable is published by Memorable Day SAS, in Paris, founded by the creator of ungrandjour.com, the wedding money pot. The company is registered with ORIAS as a crowdfunding intermediary, a regulated profession supervised by the ACPR, the authority attached to the Banque de France. Our activity is covered by mandatory professional liability insurance of up to €100,000 per claim.
Crowdfunding intermediary no. 26010195 on the ORIAS register. Collected funds are held in escrow accounts dedicated to each money pot.
Check on orias.frIdentity verification that is simple, quick and governed by law
Memorable verifies the identity of the money pot's organiser before their first withdrawal. It takes 2 minutes from your computer or phone. You can then register the bank account where you want to receive the money and request withdrawals in one or several goes, at any time during the money pot, without having to close it.
We ask for this information to comply with the regulations that apply to every online money pot:
- AML-CFT Anti-money-laundering rules require us to know who receives the funds (French Monetary and Financial Code, art. L. 561-5).
- ACPR notice The due-diligence rules set for crowdfunding intermediaries by the authority attached to the Banque de France. Read the notice
- GDPR Your identity data is used only for this verification and kept for the period the law requires.
The money collected sits in a dedicated escrow account, which we never use
As soon as they pay, participants' money goes into an escrow account dedicated to your money pot, held by a licensed payment institution. It stays there safely until you withdraw it.
Our model is simple and transparent: our only income is the contributions participants and organisers choose to leave. We take no commission on withdrawals and earn no interest on money pot funds.
For extra security, the money collected becomes available within 2 to 5 business days, and the transfer reaches your account within 48 to 72 hours.
A simple, fast and secure payment
The payment form is designed to be as easy as possible, with the payment methods everyone uses every day, and protected by the highest banking security standards. Cards from all over the world are accepted, from any country.
Accepted payment methods3D Secure authentication
For each participation, we ask the participant's bank for strong authentication: they confirm the payment in their banking app or by text message, as the European PSD2 rules require. Every payment is thus protected by 3D Secure.
Encrypted card data
The card is entered in a form certified PCI DSS level 1, the industry's most demanding standard, over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Card data is never stored by Memorable.
Fraud screening
Every payment is screened automatically to catch stolen cards and suspicious behaviour. Participants and organisers are protected across the whole platform.
Your data stays in Europe
Memorable Day is a French company based in Paris and supervised by the ACPR. The site and its database are hosted in Ireland, photos are stored in Paris, and all data is encrypted and protected in line with the GDPR.

You choose who you share your money pot with, and what it shows
Money pots are not listed on Google, and Memorable offers no search feature to find an event by its name or its organiser's name. A money pot can only be opened with its personal link or with the free QR code provided by Memorable.
The organiser chooses what is shown. They can hide the total collected and set the defaults offered to participants, for example showing messages to the beneficiary only.
Each participant stays in control. They decide whether to show their first name, the amount they gave and their message, and can give anonymously. Their email is passed to the organiser only if they choose to share it.
Your data serves the money pot only. No resale, no marketing emails.

Security and disputes
Answers to the most common questions about money pot security and how disputes are handled, in line with our terms.
How do I report a suspicious money pot?
Can I get my contribution refunded?
What happens if a payment is disputed with the bank?
A chargeback happens when a participant asks their bank to cancel a payment. It is handled in three steps:
- Withdrawals from the money pot are suspended while the case is reviewed.
- We ask the organiser for the relevant information, with supporting documents if needed.
- The participant's bank reviews the case and decides whether the payment stands or is refunded.
Throughout the process, the funds stay in the money pot's escrow account, and withdrawals resume as soon as the case is closed. No chargeback has been recorded since Memorable launched.
Why must I verify my identity before withdrawing funds?
Can I ask for my ID document and selfie to be deleted?
These documents must legally be kept for five years. Memorable does not store them on its servers: they are analysed and kept by our identity verification partner, Stripe. We keep only the verification's reference, status and date.
Stripe keeps biometric data for up to one year, and other verification data for five years after the relationship ends. Memorable, as a crowdfunding intermediary, is bound by the same obligation (articles L. 561-2 and L. 561-12 of the French Monetary and Financial Code).
The GDPR right to erasure does not apply to data that the law requires to be kept (article 17, paragraph 3, b).
