About us

An honest money pot, to celebrate and to support

Memorable.me is the online money pot for celebrations and solidarity causes. Everyone pays the amount they chose, and supports the platform only if they decide to.

Our story

The Un Grand Jour experience, made simpler

Hello, I'm Georges Vernier. If you're here, you're probably celebrating an important moment, and I wanted to tell you what led me to create Memorable.me, this money pot platform.

In 2022, I launched Un Grand Jour. First designed for every kind of event, the platform naturally came to specialise in weddings, helping couples create their website, manage their invitations and organise their gift list. Today, we're lucky to support thousands of weddings every year.

I soon realised that couples' needs are very different from those of a leaving gift, a birthday or a show of solidarity. At the same time, I also looked at how online money pots work, and the way their business models were changing sometimes bothered me. I wanted to create an alternative: a fair, transparent and ethical platform, where fees are shown clearly and everyone is free to support us if they wish.

So, between September 2025 and June 2026, I rolled up my sleeves. I drew on those four years of experience to build the money pot I would want to use myself: simple, transparent and fair.

My promise is simple: to give you the most reliable and most human money pot possible, to be there for every moment of life.

Our mission

We believe generosity deserves respect.

Behind every contribution, there's a wish to bring joy or to help. At Memorable.me, we're building a money pot that respects that wish: simple, transparent, and funded by those who choose to.

Why it matters

Online, a common practice is to use dark patterns: interfaces deliberately designed to push users into doing something they wouldn't have done on their own. We put all our energy into fighting these practices, which erode people's trust online. At Memorable.me, we offer an ethical interface that lets everyone make an informed choice when it comes to funding the platform.

On a €40 contribution, here is the difference between the Memorable.me basket and a basket where the contribution is already added.

We measured it on real Memorable pots: for the same amount asked, a screen where the commission is already in the basket collects more than twice as much as a screen where contributors add it themselves. Read the study and its first results

Doing our part

The hummingbird's part

A legend tells of a hummingbird that, during a great forest fire, flew back and forth to drop a few beads of water on the flames. When the other animals mocked it, it replied: “I'm doing my part.”

In summer 2026, a fire broke out in the dunes of Hardelot. I came with several buckets and started dousing it, alone. Then others joined me, and the chain grew.

Memorable.me was born of the same spirit. We don't claim to change how payment screens are designed on our own. We do our part by offering a pot where nothing is pre-filled, and by running a study on real pots to measure the impact of dark patterns. We hope this will improve the tipping economy, on the web and in everyday life.

And we're no longer alone. Everyone who takes part in the study on Memorable.me helps us quantify and document that impact. Every outlet, every reader who shares our results brings their own bucket of water to calm the fire.

People arriving on foot in the dunes, a bucket in hand, to help put out the fire
…then others come to help.

You can do your part too

Creating your pot on Memorable.me already means choosing a pot where nothing is pre-filled. And if you want to go further, you can agree, when you create it, that your pot takes part in our study. For each contribution, we will then show at random either a screen with a pre-filled contribution or a screen where the participant adds a contribution themselves, if they wish, to measure the difference in performance.

We tell your participants right after they pay, and they can get their contribution back in one click. The extra money the pre-filled screen brings in, and that the participant does not take back, is paid back to the pot at the end of the study.

The results are shared with researchers in ethical design, lawyers and law PhD students, and help, at European level, to better understand how manipulative interfaces affect the average consumer. It is one of the very first French studies on the subject, run on real payments, and it could be a game changer.

Our commitments

Offering an ethical money pot

Nothing added by default

The total shown at checkout is the participation itself. No contribution is added to the basket by default.

Saying no as easily as yes

Declining to cover the fees takes one click, with a button as visible as the one that adds them.

A model built on generosity

Our only income is the contributions people choose to leave. No commission on withdrawals, no interest on the money in the pots.

Our results in public

We study the impact of dark patterns on real pots, and publish the method and the results, recalculated every hour.

One exception, with the organiser's agreement: our study, where half of the participants see a pre-filled contribution. They are told after paying and can get it back in one click. How the study works
