Create my potStatic or dynamic: the paid QR code trap
Many free generators you find on Google create a dynamic QR code without saying so, switch it off after a few scans, then charge you to turn it back on. Here, both kinds are free, with no limit on scans or time.
We built this free dynamic QR code because organisers had printed the wrong link on their wedding invitations, leaving guests no way to reach the pot. A dynamic QR code lets us send its scans to another page if that happens: just write to us from the email you gave when you created it.
A QR code for any money pot, on Memorable or elsewhere
This generator works with the link to any money pot, whether it is on Memorable, GoFundMe or anywhere else: copy the link from your platform's share option and paste it in.
On Memorable, you will also find it in your dashboard: open the pot from "My pots", then click "Download".
How a money pot QR code works
- The giver scans the QR codewith their phone's camera, with no app to install.
- Your pot opensin their mobile browser, with no account to create.
- They choose an amount and payby card or Apple Pay, and the pot is credited straight away.
You then see every contribution in your dashboard.
Where to put the QR code so it gets scanned
For a collection in person, put the QR code where your guests have a moment and their phone at hand:
| Where | How |
|---|---|
| Invitation | At the bottom of the page, under a line such as "Our wedding money pot" |
| Leaving-do poster | Next to the coffee machine, large, on a white background |
| Table card or tent card | Near the guest book or the buffet, visible as people sit down |
| Fundraising stand | At eye level, with a short instruction |
| Screen during a speech | Full screen for a few seconds, with the instruction said out loud |
| Phone held out | To let someone give on the spot, with nothing to print |
Sharing a money pot: the QR code and the other channels
There are several ways to share a money pot, and the QR code is only one of them. It reaches guests holding an invitation or walking past a poster, but most people arrive another way:
Visitors to Memorable pots, rough figures over 30 days, September 2026.
So use the QR code alongside the other channels, not instead of them:
Whatever the channel, add a few words saying why you are collecting and that everyone is free to give what they like:
One message is not enough: share the link on several channels at launch, send one reminder a few days before the end, and let your friends pass it on with the pot's "Share" button. For French-speaking relatives, replace /en with /fr in the link and the page will show in French.
Frequently asked questions
When is a QR code most useful for a money pot?
Whenever people hold something printed or are in the same place: wedding invitations, a leaving-do poster, table cards on the day. On a screen, a link is quicker to tap than a QR code is to scan, so keep the link for messages and social networks.
Can my pot's QR code expire?
No. A static QR code holds the link to your pot itself and works for as long as the pot exists. A dynamic QR code goes through memorable.me, with no limit on scans or time.
Can I change a QR code that is already printed?
Only if it is dynamic. Write to us from the email you gave when you created it and we will send its scans to the new page. A static QR code can't be changed.
Do I need an account to create the QR code?
No, the generator needs no sign-up. For a dynamic QR code we only ask for your email, so that we can redirect your QR code if you ever need to.
Link, QR code or private message: which should I use?
All three work together. Private messages get the most people to give, the link on social networks widens the circle, and the QR code covers paper and events.
